Overview

SPS 2025 Innovation in Prosthodontics Competition will provide a platform for dental professionals, researchers and students to present innovative research and clinical practices in prosthodontics that improves patient outcome.

Description:

  • All submitted abstracts will be undergo a rigorous review by the scientific committee and the top quality will be selected for presentation during the SPS 2025 conference.
  • There will be multiple competition categories each recognizing exceptional quality and impact on patient outcome as well as the level of the participant.
  • The top 6 presentations from each category, will be evaluated during the conference by experienced judges, three of which will be the winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place.
  • The allotted time of poster presentation will be five minutes for Summary and two minutes for questions and answers with the judges.
  • The allotted time of mini oral presentation will be feight minutes for Summary and two minutes for questions and answers with the judges.
  • Only submitting author will present and get a certificate.
  • Non-confirmation of author to present on the specified time will disqualify his/her nomination.
  • Electronic poster or E-Poster is similar to traditional paper poster but displayed on a large LCD television screen. This is not a paper/printed poster. It will be viewed at the E-Poster Stations throughout the conference.
  • Submitting a poster format for all categories is mandatory. If you are not selected as a finalist, your poster will be displayed on E-poster station.
  • Each E-Poster must be submitted as a single page PDF document with a size of 3840 pixels (Height) x 2160 pixels (Width) in Vertical/Portrait Orientation.

Eligibility

  • Author must be SPS Active Member by September 2025.
  • Author may be a Dental Student, Intern, General Dentist, Specialists, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistants, or Dental Laboratory Technicians.
  • Poster must be related to prosthodontisc.

Ethical Guidelines

  • Authorship – Submitted reasrch or cases should be the author original work, and properly documented.  Student or Resident Authors should have submitted research or cases approved by the Training Center Director and Research/Case Supervisor.
  • Ethical Approvals  (IRB)– Case Reports should be conducted in full accordance with ethical principles, evidence based guidelines, dental health code and abide with local laws and regulations.

Abstract Submission Rules

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission portal only.
  • Abstracts format for research must include: Title, Objectives, Methods, Results (data and statistical analysis and Conclusions. Abstract format for clinical case poster must include: Title, Introduction, Case description, Discussion, Conclusion/Clinical significance.
  • Abstract should be submitted with blinding of authors’ names and institutions.
  • Abstracts will be reviewed as submitted by the abstract deadline. No changes to the abstract text, including correcting typographical errors, incorrect data, etc. will be permitted after this date.
  • Authors may submit up to 2 abstracts but present only 1 abstract (e.g. 1 abstract as presenting author and other abstract as co-author).
  • If the submitter chooses an irrelevant category, the Committee may ask the author to resubmit the abstract to the accurate category.
  • Submitting the same abstract by two different authors will cause excluding of both.
  • Submitting the same abstract to two different awards will cause excluding of both.
  • Agreement form should be signed from other authors, otherwise will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts of unfinished research will not be evaluated.
  • The submitting author must disclose any personal or co-author potential conflict of interest.
  • A plagiarized abstract is disqualified.
  • The Abstract content must meet the standard of an academic/scientific presentation.
  • For any accepted abstract, the poster format should be submitted in JPG/PNG/PDF format within 2 weeks from the date of the acceptance email. Delay in submission of the poster may result in cancellation.

Evaluation Criteria

Posters will be evaluated based on:

  • Scientific Merit: Quality and originality of research.
  • Clarity: Logical flow and clarity of information presented.
  • Visual Appeal: Design and organization of the poster.
  • Engagement: Ability to effectively communicate with viewers during the presentation.

Awards:

  • 1st place: 5000 SR.
  • 2nd place: 3000SR.
  • 3rd place: 2000 SR.

Important dates for Research & E-Poster Awards abstract submission

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: August 9th, 2025.
  • Notification via email (Promoted/Rejected): Within 6 weeks from submission deadline
  • Presentation Date: Early August 2025. If you have not received a notification by 18th of August 2025, please contact us on info@prosthodontics.org.sa
  • For any withdrawals, the submitter should notify the organizer as soon as possible, minimum 1 month prior to the event.

Submission process consists of two steps:

  1. Create an Account.
  2. Abstract Submission.

How to submit your abstract

  1. Please read and follow the Abstract Submission Guidelines section. When you are ready to submit, start creating your profile.
  2. After creating your profile, you will be taken to the Dashboard section.
  3. Choose Submissions from the top menu, then choose Create New Submission.
  4. Please fill all the mandatory fields.
  5. If you have a co-author/s, upload Agreement Form. Click  Here to download the template.
  6. If you have forgotten your password, click “Forgot Password” and then you will be requested to enter your email address to receive a password reset email. Follow the instructions in the email.
  7. You will be informed by email about the status of your submission.
